ALP/AKP is a kind of enzyme from liver to human liver, bone, instestines, renal and placenta etc. However, it is not a single enzyme, but a group of isoenzyme. At present, there are 6 kinds of isoenzyme in this group, they are AKP1, AKP2, AKP3, AKP4, AKP5 and AKP6. AKP1, AKP2 and AKP6 are from liver, AKP3 is from bone cells, AKP4 is from placenta and cancer cells, AKP5 is from small intestinal villi epithelium and fibroblasts.
The detection of ALP is mainly used for some diseases diagnosing, such as bone, liver system etc, especially icterus. The ALP/AKP Test kit is used for the quantitative detection of Alkaline Phosphatase in human serum.
