Most Total Bilirubin in serum is from the hemoglobin of damaged old erythrocyte.It is mainly used in diagnosing liver disease and obstruction of biliary tract. When total bilirubin in serum increase highly, the human skin, eyes sclera, urine and serum will become yellow, so it is called jaundice. So when inflammation appearances in liver, even necrosis, intoxication, there will be jaundice. Besides biliary disease and hemolytic disease also could cause the jaundice.
Total Bilirubin Test kit is used for the quantitative detection of Total Bilirubin in human serum.
